Talang disability information network was set up by Ye Zijie, a blind teacher in China’s Inner Mongolia region. Talang’s mission is to “Change the world and change our lives”. Since its creation in 2007, the network has translated and published online large quantities of articles from around the world on legal matters, social issues regarding disability rights, education and other areas. Since 2012, the network has also invited Chinese and overseas scholars from the disability field to contribute to is columns.
Talang’s aim is to create a platform to promote the concept of disability rights and equality. Talang also acts as a support network, providing vital information for people with disabilities and their families and to exchange experience. The network also organises focus group discussions and other disability equality activities. The network is completely managed and run by people with disabilities.
