First batch of undergraduate students enroll in Nanjing School for the Blind

 The first batch of undergraduates of the Nanjing School for the Blind started their military training on Wednesday. Military training is a fundamental part of defense education. All across China, elementary, middle and high school students and undergraduates all have military training, either when the term starts, or after the National Day, which falls on October 1. 

Students at the Nanjing School for the Blind are undergoing a week of military training, before beginning their course work on October 8.

All 20 students in the class are blind or low-vision students. They are studying acupuncture, moxibustion and tuina. 

The undergraduate class was jointly organized by the Nanjing School for the Blind and the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. 

The school has become the only full-time school in the country that accepts students ranging from kindergarten to undergraduates.

 It is the most complete school for the blind in the country. The undergraduate class is composed of eight boys and 12 girls, and they will spend five years studying.
