Woman with disability starts business with friends
Liu Guijun, a 49-year-old disabled woman in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, started a business with some of her disabled friends more than a decade ago, and it’s still growing.
“We can achieve something despite our disadvantages”, said Liu. Twenty years ago, Liu received an award for persons with disabilities for wool knitting and design at the Great Hall of the People. “I found that I could achieve something then,” said Liu.
Liu was diagnosed with infantile paralysis when she was 11 months old, which resulted in her disability. After she got married, she bought a sewing machine and started a sweater processing business.
