Blind Student Wants to Teach Blind Children
Sun Borey has been unable to see since shortly after he was born, with eyesight problems leading quickly to blindness. Though he can’t see anything, the 21-year-old is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in English literature at Panha Chiet University.
He said he always wondered why blind students decided to drop out of school. To Mr. Borey, blindness is not an impediment to learning. His dream career is to be a teacher, and he believes he will be able to advise blind students on their studies based on his experiences. He understands how difficult it is for blind students to make academic progress. He said he hoped he would be able to convince other blind students to pursue their studies as far as they can.
